We hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving with family and friends. We hope you were able to indulge in lots of food and love, and perhaps some of you regret your eating decisions yesterday. But have no fear, we are open today from 12-2PM for you all to come get a workout in. See you there!

Happy Thanksgiving from all of us here at CFSE. Please take a moment to not worry about the copious amount of food you will consume, and instead think about the time you get to spend with the ones you love the most. Remember, it is OK to indulge, enjoy, get drunk and have fun- because we are open tomorrow 12-2PM for Open Gym 🙂 

Be thankful for the health you have, the things you can do today that you could not do last year, and the people with you along the way. These are the things that matter most.

Gymnastics Burner

  • EMOM12
    • Odd- 15 KB Swings (RX= 53/35#) (CRX= 70/53#)
    • Even- Toes To Bar (SX= 10 Reps) (RX= 12 Reps) (CRX= 15 Reps)

Every round must be completed unbroken. There will be a 1 minute penalty of burpee tuck jumps added on to your conditioning time per round not performed unbroken. Scale appropriately, but challenge yourself. 

Conditioning

  • 3 Rounds For Time (including above penalty time):
    • 21 Box Jumps (24/20″)
    • 15 Pull-Ups (CRX= Chest to Bar)
    • 9 Strict Dips

Congratulations to CFSE athlete and Mom of the year, Courtney Decker, on being one of our female Fall Nutrition challenge winners! Courtney HATES to miss a day of CrossFit (or CrossFit Lite), and it showed during this nutrition challenge. Courtney was almost PERFECT with the point system, and it really showed in her performance. Reason(s) you joined CrossFit Speakeasy:
I joined crossfit speakeasy because I knew it was the best way to get back in shape after babies, they had great coaches that I felt motivated by and that the program worked.

How has CrossFit Speakeasy changed your life:
Crossfit speakeasy changed my life by constantly motivating me to want to do better and be better. They have also blessed my husband and I with child care, therefore we are able to get our workouts in with our kids and sometimes work out together! (Which is amazing!)

What is your biggest goal for 2016?:
Stay in shape, get stronger, and run faster

2 Random facts about yourself:
I have two awesome daughters and I love chocolate, love it

Do you ever notice the patches of hair Dimitri misses when he shaves his head?:
No, but I noticed he never keeps his shirt on

Which pair of pants will Rob be wearing today?:
Black pants? I have no idea but I know he probably won’t have socks or shoes on

Congratulations to CFSE Athlete, Vin Petruzziello, on also winning the Fall Nutrition Challenge. As many of you know, Vin is an extremely hard worker and has many goals for himself in 2016. We are extremely excited for the direction you are heading, and know we will always be in your corner! Vin took this nutrition challenge by storm and had significant performance improvement. After speaking with him, he plans to continue the diet and is getting ready for the 2016 Open in the Masters 40-44 age group. Good luck, Vin!

Reason(s) you joined CrossFit Speakeasy: Was looking for a new Gym and heard Rob had just opening CFSE. Having trained with Rob in the past the timing was perfect.

How has CrossFit Speakeasy changed your life: Before CFSE I just was just another guy working out at a CrossFit gym. Once I came to CFSE I stopped just working out and I began training. Through the teaching of the coaches and support of the members, I began to make major strides in strength, technique and cardio that I didn’t think were possible. Because of that support and coaching, I feel like I have only started to tap my potential and everyday look forward to a new challenge with the hopes of hitting new goals and achievements.

What is your biggest goal for 2016?: To place in the top 100 this year in the CrossFit Opens North East Region 40-44 year old Masters division

2 Random facts about yourself:

1. I’m probably not as cool as I think I am
2. Even though I have always worked in, and now own a restaurant, I have never had any official culinary or hospitality education.

Get to know CFSE Athlete, and one of our female Nutrition Challenge winners, Tina Barbera! Tina has been involved at CFSE for quite some time now, but over the last couple months she has made HUGE improvements and strides in her training. Tina has also been consistently coming to our Next Level class, and working on her weaknesses. Those weaknesses are quickly becoming strengths, and we look forward to you taking on more local competitions!

Reason(s) you joined CrossFit Speakeasy: I wanted to see how far I could push my body. I wanted to work on my endurance.
How has CrossFit Speakeasy changed your life: I have met some awesome people and athletes that encourage me everyday to work harder. I’ve become stronger and more confident.
What is your biggest goal for 2016?: I have many goals in and out of the gym. My gym goal is to be able to do a muscle up.
2 Random facts about yourself: I love old American muscle cars. I just recently managed to squeeze a 27” wide couch in a 25” wide doorway by removing the whole door frame all by myself.
Do you ever notice the patches of hair Dimitri misses when he shaves his head?: Funny you ask. Just recently actually. Like two weeks ago.
Which pair of pants will Rob be wearing today?: If it was last winter, I would say dark cargo pants, but he seems to have retired them… so I’m going to go with gray.
